Adoption day

He loves daddy's watch

Guess who picked the shirt for today

Where we finalized the adoption

Getting parents can wear a guy out

Saw Elmo underwear and HAD to have it on over the pjs.

Looking cool in his new hat.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT RENEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we went back to civil affairs to formally adopt Kevin. We filmed the entire process but I can't download discs yet...I am having a tutorial later with another couple. I hope I am a good learner.

We believe that Kevin was the celebrity of the orphanage. We received email address for some of the nannies to keep in touch and send pictures. I believe if we had said that we didn't want to visit again, it would be an international incident. I am sure it will be fine. Even today in the civil affairs he didn't want to give the nannies kisses. He kept running back to Duane if they would ask him for a hug. It is very heartwarming to see that he likes us this much already. God has really helped in the transition. Duane has really been given a daddy's boy....a gift from above.

We got talk to the girls for a minute this morning. They got to see their brother on Skype, but the connection here in the hotel is really slow so we kept dropping the call. We hope to have more luck with that later....I know they want to see him more.

Tomorrow we will tour the orphange and possibly have lunch there. I will try to get pictures of others there. I hope they allow it.

Woooohooooo! I am so happy for you all! He looks like he is adjusting well. I've been out of the loop the past few days. In case you haven't heard the news...I "MET" OUR DAUGHTER ON FRIDAY!!!!! Congrats on becoming parents again! I'm sure he was worth the wait. :-)

Love the pictures. we will be praying for your orphanage trip tomorrow. That was Lily's only day that she was upset.
I hope Kevin is giving you lots of Ching Chings (kisses).

Congrats, Shelley! I didn't realize you were in China to get Kevin until Amy B. posted it to the adoption group. I have been out of the loop since we moved last August. I wish we were still in the area to meet your new son.

Huge congrats!! I'm thrilled it's going so well!!

Every call has a beginning. A quiet moment when God whispers a promise to a mother’s heart . A holy place where a father bows and faithfully accepts the journey set before him. A miraculous morning that unexpectedly dawns… Casting its first light on a chosen threshold. A gentle knock..a closed door opens, a sacred invitation sent by the Father.. leads to the other side of the world. Where lonely hearts stare out orphanage windows praying for someone to care.. and then one morning, on an ordinary day an orphan’s life changes... God sends them a second chance...Through you..

We are a family now, a whole,of which you are a part, and you are just as much our child as any in our heart. We do not love you differently, nor would we give up less of all that life has given us to bring you happiness. There is no limit to our love,no boundary you might cross,no price you may be asked to pay,no need to fear its loss. We are now one, the five of us,windows of one home. As long as we have life and breath,You’ll never be alone.~Nicholas Gordon
