6 month post placement...DONE

Yes, it has been six months since our sweet Claire joined our family. Our social worker couldn't believe how tall she is. I informed him that all girls from Anhui were destined to be statuesque and incredibly beautiful. He said he would have to agree. For those of you that are keeping track, she is 27 months old and is 34" tall. She weighs 29.7 lbs. Funny to think that she has put on 3 lbs since we have gotten her. Gotta love the American diet.

My sister will be here next week for spring break and I will get a break from my full-time job of getting my mother back on her feet. She is in that stage of "I feel really good, so let me do more stuff." Then she over does it and has to take a step back...frustrating.

We all remain healthy here. Claire goes for her last shots and check up next week.

Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the pictures.

Congrats on the 6 month mark. I think those were the toughest part. I don't relish doing the jetlag and adjustment again. Your Claire beautiful.

Congrats on your 6 month. I found you through Steffie's blog and noticed you are looking into Vietnam to grow your family. We have a two year old from China (home since Nov '05) and we currently are waiting on our referral from Vietnam for her little sister. Like you, the new regulations led us down a different path. Anyway, if you have questions about VN I would be happy to try and help. You can check out our blog and there is a link on there to our VN website. Good luck!

Every call has a beginning. A quiet moment when God whispers a promise to a mother’s heart . A holy place where a father bows and faithfully accepts the journey set before him. A miraculous morning that unexpectedly dawns… Casting its first light on a chosen threshold. A gentle knock..a closed door opens, a sacred invitation sent by the Father.. leads to the other side of the world. Where lonely hearts stare out orphanage windows praying for someone to care.. and then one morning, on an ordinary day an orphan’s life changes... God sends them a second chance...Through you..

We are a family now, a whole,of which you are a part, and you are just as much our child as any in our heart. We do not love you differently, nor would we give up less of all that life has given us to bring you happiness. There is no limit to our love,no boundary you might cross,no price you may be asked to pay,no need to fear its loss. We are now one, the five of us,windows of one home. As long as we have life and breath,You’ll never be alone.~Nicholas Gordon
